SPECIALTY GLASS

Published by Schott North America Inc., Solutions, the company’s technology magazine (No. 1, 2007), highlights applications of specialty glass. The 43-page publication, written in both English and German, features an article on the memorial to the victims of the March 2004 terrorist attacks in Madrid, Spain; Schott supplied 15,600 glass components for the monument. Other articles discuss piezoelectric glass ceramics, the appropriate lighting for visual quality assurance, and the introduction of solar power plants in rural China. The full-color document includes stories on the use of glass in architectural design and in the National Ignition Facility at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California.
