U Wisc-Madison Offers Laser Welding Certificates
A laser welding certification program now offered by the University of Wisconsin–Madison (UW Madison) Department of Engineering Professional Development covers equipment, process procedures and validation. Those certified will be qualified to write equipment and process procedures and technical data sheets and to perform calculations and diagnostics of the equipment and the laser process and validations to ISO, FDA and AWS specifications. Two certificates are available: LWPSM (accredited laser welding professional), for professionals involved in engineering or the design or management of laser welding parts, assemblies or operations (requires a bachelor's degree), and LWTSPSM (accredited laser welding process technical support provider), for those responsible for setting up, calibrating and operating laser welding equipment.
