PHOTOVOLTAIC MODULES
A four-page brochure from Spire Corp. titled “Photovoltaic Module Production Lines and Manufacturing Equipment” discusses the company’s Spi-Cell Sorter, which tests solar cells and sorts them according to performance characteristics prior to the assembly process. It details the Spi-Assembler and Spi-Module Lay-Up Station for expediting the process of interconnecting the cells into linked “strings” and the Spi-Sun Simulator, which tests the performance of finished modules under conditions that replicate sunlight. The Spi-Laminator, for bonding the cell strings and glass lay-up together, also is specified. An illustration shows a 100-MW turnkey automated photovoltaic module production line.
