Konarka Hires Dan Williams as VP Development
Dan Williams has joined Konarka Technologies Inc. as vice president of product and business development. Williams will direct development of the company's Power Plastic photovoltaic (light-activated) material, which can be coated or printed onto a surface in a process similar to making photographic film. Williams formerly managed the Boston office of Chicago-based design and engineering consultancy Product Development Technologies Inc. Before that, he was vice president of design at Reebok and spent 17 years in design leadership positions at Motorola, including design director for mobile devices and heading its Advanced Concepts Lab in Boston. Williams holds 49 design and utility patents related to computer, medical device and wireless communication equipment and has won numerous design awards. He is an affiliate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Media Lab and has lectured at MIT, the Harvard School of Business and Harvard Graduate School of Design. He will be located at Konarka's in Lowell, Mass.
