HIGH-POWER FIBER

A one-page flier titled “Er:YAG Laser Delivery Fiber” from IRphotonics provides preliminary specifications on the high-power fiber, which is designed for delivering Er:YAG and Er,Cr:YSGG beams. It notes that the fiber, made of Zblan-based fluoride gas, offers transmission >85% for up to a 3-m cable at 2.7 to 2.9 μm, as well as flexibility, high damage thresholds, Fresnel losses of 4% per end face, and an operating wavelength range of 0.3 to 4.5 μm.
