BTI Photonic Systems Changes Name, Opens Mass. Design Center
BTI Photonic Systems, an Ottawa, Ontario, provider of optical edge networking for service providers, announced this week it has changed its name to BTI Systems, to better reflect its ability to manufacture systems that combine optical, Ethernet and SONET/SDH in one platform. The company also said it is opening a design center in Marlborough, Mass., to develop its packet-optical networking products. Lance Laking, president and CEO, said, "With our new design center and streamlined focus on micro-WDM (wavelength division multiplexing) and packet solutions, we are pushing forward to lead the development of data networking solutions that support increasing demand for the delivery of bandwidth-intense applications over a fiber infrastructure.”
