Photron Wins Crash Test Innovation Award
San Diego-based high-speed imaging system and image analysis software supplier Photron Inc. announced it has been awarded the "Crash Test Innovation of the Year" award from Automotive Testing Technology International for its Fastcam MH4 multihead, high-speed video system (see photo).
Automotive Testing Technology International presented the company with the award last month; finalists were selected from all automotive development and research companies and judged by a panel of eight for several awards. The top seven were honored for contributions made to automotive safety and reliability, usability and driveability. Photron's Fastcam MH4 is a high-G high-speed imaging system that features four camera heads, each less than 1.5-in. cubed, that are connected to a compact DC processor via flexible cables from 3 to 33 feet long, for high-speed imaging in difficult-to-access, confined and hostile environments, such as auto crash tests and military and defense applications.
