Pixelworks CEO Taking Medical Leave
Pixelworks Inc. of Tualatin, Ore., announced last week that its CEO and president, Hans Olsen, will take a temporary leave of absence beginning Jan. 1 to address recently discovered health issues. The length of Olsen’s leave will be determined by his overall health and medical progress. Semiconductor industry veteran Bruce A. Walicek, lead director on the Pixelworks board, will serve as acting CEO and president during Olsen's absence. He joins the company from Sevin Rosen Funds, where he was an executive in residence. "All of us on the board are committed to supporting Hans through this leave and wish him all the best for his recovery. I am confident that, working with Pixelworks' excellent team of employees, we can continue to make progress while Hans is away," Walicek said. Pixelworks provides video and pixel processing technology to manufacturers of digital projectors and flat panel display products.
