Candela Names Scott Blood VP of QA and Regulatory Affairs

Aesthetic laser maker Candela Corp. of Wayland, Mass., announced today that it has hired Scott Blood as vice president of quality assurance (QA) and regulatory affairs, a new position within the company. Blood has more than 15 years of experience in quality, regulatory, operations and product design for life sciences companies. Most recently, he served as vice president of manufacturing and quality at InfraReDx Inc., a Burlington, Mass.-based medical device company. He is an undergraduate lecturer for Northeastern University's Health Sciences degree program and chairs the New England biomedical discussion group of the American Society of Quality. Blood earned his bachelor's degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. He is a certified quality engineer, certified quality auditor and also holds regulatory affairs certification with the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society.
