Carey Hired as VP of the ISR Systems Group at Raytheon SAS

W. Timothy Carey has been hired as vice president of the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Systems group of Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems (SAS), the El Segundo, Calif.-based maker of sensor systems for defense applications announced today. Carey will oversee the business operations and strategic direction of  ISR Systems in McKinney, Texas, which produces an array of electro-optical and infrared sensors, active electronically scanned array and scanning radars, and various integrated systems for strike, persistent surveillance and special mission applications. He succeeds Michael L. Proch, who is retiring after 34 years with Raytheon. Previously, Carey served as vice president and deputy for national and theater security programs in Raytheon's Integrated Defense Systems business. He joined Raytheon in 1978 and has held numerous positions, including leading key products and projects such as the Patriot and Hellenic Patriot air and missile defense systems, the National Missile Defense X-Band Radar, the Joint Land-Attack Cruise Missile Defense Elevated Netted Sensor, and the System for the Vigilance of the Amazon, an environmental monitoring effort for the government of Brazil.
