Rofin-Sinar to Acquire Nufern

Rofin-Sinar Technologies Inc. of Plymouth, Mich., a developer and manufacturer of laser beam sources and laser-based solutions, has signed an agreement for the acquisition of Nufern of East Granby, Conn., for an undisclosed amount. The latter, a manufacturer of specialty fibers and fiber laser modules, will be a wholly owned subsidiary of the former but will continue to operate as a stand-alone company.
