3-D CAMERAS
A 15-page brochure from Sick/IVP details the Ranger line of cameras for 3-D measurement. It notes that cameras use laser triangulation to extract the true shape of objects, that they measure several object features simultaneously, including gray scale, gloss and scatter, and that they offer Camera Link or Gigabit Ethernet interfaces. Applications are described, including 3-D dimension control, contrast-independent inspection, and quality grading and production control. The technology is explained with numerous diagrams. The Ranger Studio graphical user interface for the evaluation of the camera and its possibilities is described. Specifications are provided for the three main models and their various versions.
