LASER SAFETY

Available in print and in pdf, the “2008 Laser Safety Training Catalog” from the Laser Institute of America details the organization’s online and regional course offerings, which address areas such as the duties of laser safety officers and medical laser safety officers, advanced concepts in laser safety, industrial and educational laser safety, laser safety for physicians, and medical aesthetic lasers and light technologies. It highlights a medical laser safety course with hands-on demonstrations, an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) laser safety seminar and LIA’s in-house laser safety services as well as laser safety auditing for medical facilities. LIA’s alliance with OSHA is explained.
