Robert Vollmers Named Linos COO
Robert Vollmers appointed Linos COO Robert Vollmers has been named chief operating officer of Linos Photonics GmbH & Co. of Göttingen, Germany, succeeding Volker Brockmeyer. Vollmers will be responsible for production facilities in Göttingen, Munich, Regen and in Warsaw, Poland and will also assume responsibility for operations of the Qioptiq Group Optical Systems Div., which makes high-precision optical components and modules for military and commercial applications. Vollmers previously held positions at the Rodenstock Group for more than 11 years before joining Linos, including five years as director of a Rodenstock plant in Thailand, and was most recently vice president of strategic projects for Rodenstock operations in Munich. Linos Photonics, part of the Linos Group, has about 800 employees. Rodenstock Group's technical optics division was sold to Linos AG in 2000 and continues to produce camera lenses.
