Oki, Kotura to Collaborate on Components
A 10 Gb/s receiver based on VOA-APD (variable optical attenuator-avalanche photodiode) technology for metropolitan area network applications will be the first product resulting from a collaboration between Oki Optical Components and Kotura Inc., the companies announced recently. Oki, a supplier of optical and integrated circuit components for Ethernet and telecommunication applications, and Kotura, a provider of silicon photonic components, said the silicon photonics VOA enables the 10-Gb receiver, which will be introduced later this year, to support a variety of new applications. Kotura's components are used in communications, computing, sensing and detection.
