Motion System Design for Laser Apps to be LIA Topic
Motion system design for laser processing, particularly the use of two- and three-dimensional precision motion systems in a variety of laser applications and processes, will be the topic at the next meeting of the Laser Institute of America (LIA) Northeast regional chapter, to be held March 25 from 6-9 p.m. at Chuck’s Steak House, 10 Prospect St. (Rte. 20), Auburn, Mass. Speakers will be the automation sales and engineering team at Aerotech, a Pittsburgh, Pa.-based maker of motion control and positioning systems: Jim Johnson, senior applications engineer; Jeremy Donatell, senior field sales engineer; and Vic Parangelo, area manager. The event starts at 6 p.m., with cocktail hour until 7 followed by a buffet dinner, coffee and desert. Cost is $35 for members, $40 for nonmembers.
