Jenoptik Acquires Epigap Optoelektronik
In Germany, Jenoptik AG of Jena has purchased all shares in Epigap Optoelektronik GmbH of Berlin to strengthen its optical systems division, Jenoptik Polymer Systems GmbH of Triptis, a provider of polymer optics and optoelectronic systems. The Berlin-based company offers broad technology and process expertise in the manufacture of photodiodes and LED semiconductor chips for optoelectronic components. As a result of the acquisition, Jenoptik intends to create custom-designed sensors and optoelectronic modules for a wide range of applications, including medical and lighting technology.
