INTERFERENCE FILTERS
A full-color trifold brochure titled “Patterned Interference Filters” from mso jena GmbH notes that the filters are based on the principle of alternating layers of high and low refractive indices, enabling users to adjust the spectral transmittance and reflectance of optical surfaces to their needs. It discusses the features of hard dielectric and patterned interference coatings as well as filter design and the use of plasma-ion assisted deposition for producing the filters. The steps involved in micropatterning the filters are shown in photographs. The application areas of multispectral imaging, silicon photodetectors and miniature spectrometers are described.
