Airborne Digital Sensor Makes Maiden Voyage
LH Systems LLC in San Diego, in cooperation with the
German Aerospace Center in Berlin, completed the first test flight of its airborne digital sensor.
The sensor can record data at high resolution for digital terrain models. Components include 12,000-pixel charge-coupled-device line sensors, a high-performance lens from
SwissOptic in Heerbrugg, Switzerland, and a high-precision focal plane module with a built-in cooling facility.
