Flir Award Tops $45M
Flir Systems Inc. announced today it has been awarded a performance-based logistics (PBL) support contract for up to $60.5 million from the US Army Space and Missile Defense Command in Huntsville, Ala.
The contract provides for service, upgrades and logistics support for US Army and US Marine Corps programs. Current funding under the contract is $45.4 million. Including deliveries made so far this year, revenue is not expected to exceed $15 million in 2008, Flir said in a statement.
Work under the contract will take place as required in support of the installed base of Flir's Star Safire III stabilized, multisensor imaging system and THV-3000 long-range imager.
Flir makes thermal imaging and stabilized camera systems for thermography and imaging applications including condition monitoring, research and development, manufacturing process control, airborne observation and broadcast, search and rescue, drug interdiction, surveillance and reconnaissance, navigation safety, border and maritime patrol, environmental monitoring, and ground-based security.
