Kopin Wins Army Contract
The US Army has awarded the first phase of a three-phase program costing $4.2 million to Kopin Corp. of Taunton, Mass. The plan will accelerate the production capability and will improve the performance of the CyberDisplay SXGA LVR active matrix LCD, for use in the Army’s next-generation night-vision systems. The instruments use multispectral imaging sensors and full-color displays to provide images much like those acquired in daytime, even when they are taken in total darkness.
