Leica, Acquires Coretech, McCormick Assets
Precision optical system designer and producer Leica Microsystems GmbH of Wetzlar, Germany, has announced that it will expand its position in histopathology with the acquisition of St. Louis-based Coretech Holdings and McCormick Scientific LLC’s assets. The Missouri companies provide systems, instruments, reagents and consumables for clinical and research histology laboratories, and they will be renamed Leica Biosystems St. Louis LLC within the Biosystems division of the German company.
