II-VI Inc. Increases Thermoelectronics Investment in China
Engineered materials and components maker II-VI Inc. of Saxonburg, Pa., announced that it has made an additional investment in Guangdong Fuxin Electronic Technology Co. (Fuxin), based in Guangdong Province, China. II-VI, which made its initial investment in Fuxin in March 2007, will remain a minority investor. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Fuxin, which manufactures thermoelectric-based consumer appliances such as refrigerators, wine coolers and water coolers, is partnering with II-VI's Marlow Industries subsidiary to develop thermoelectric (TE) products. Dallas-based Marlow Industries makes TE coolers and subsystems for the the aerospace, defense, medical, commercial, industrial, high-speed integrated circuits, telecommunications, computing and power generation markets.
