Leica Acquires Bal-Tec

Leica Microsystems Inc. of Bannockburn, Ill., has acquired Bal-Tec AG of Liechtenstein, a manufacturer of mechanical and cryosample preparation equipment for scanning and transmission electron microscopy. With the acquisition, Leica now can provide equipment for sample transfer from preparation to analysis systems.
