Laserscope Completes Restructuring
SAN JOSE, Calif., March 10 -- Laserscope has completed its business restructuring and reported its fourth quarter and year-end financial results. The company reported a net loss for the quarter of $6.9 million; revenues for the year were $52.7 million, compared to $61.3 million for the previous year. The financial results reflect charges relating to the discontinuance of marginally profitable laser product lines, including the divestiture of the AMS hospital equipment business. Laserscope expects its future growth opportunities to be in photodynamic therapy (PDT), cosmetic laser surgery (aesthetics), and continued globalization of the overall business.
