Lam Research Promotes 2 Execs

Lam Research Corp. of Fremont, Calif., a provider of wafer fabrication equipment and services to the semiconductor industry, announced the promotions of two of its senior executives, Martin B. Anstice and Ernest E. Maddock. Effective Sept. 29, Anstice will become the company’s executive vice president and chief operating officer (COO) and Maddock will become its senior vice president and chief financial officer (CFO). Anstice, who joined the company in 2001, has been serving as senior vice president, CFO and chief accounting officer. The position of COO has been vacant since June 2005, when then-President and COO Stephen G. Newberry was named president and CEO. Maddock, who joined Lam Research in 1997, has been serving as its senior vice president of global operations since 2003. Maddock also heads Lam's Bullen Semiconductor division. Prior to joining Lam, Maddock served as CFO of various divisions of NCR Corp. and previously held a variety of executive roles in finance and operations in several industries, including commercial real estate and telecommunications.
