IPG Opens Laser Microprocessing Center
IPG Photonics Corp., based in Oxford, Mass., has opened an 8000-sq-ft laser microprocessing applications facility that will concentrate on the advancement of laser microprocessing for the photovoltaic and medical device industries. Located in Santa Clara, Calif., it will also work with IPG's other applications facilities around the world. IPG Photonics also announced that it has named Tony Hoult, an industry veteran with over 22 years of hands-on laser applications experience, particularly in the field of fiber lasers, as general manager of West Coast operations.
