COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., April 20 -- The Spectranetics Corp. reports that revenue rose to $7,077,000 in the first quarter of 1999, an increase of 8% over 1998. The rise in revenue was credited to a 41% increase in sales of fiber-optic catheters, which continue to be the main source of growth for the cardiac laser and medical device company.
The company's industrial drawn silica glass subsidiary, Polymicro, also reports continued gains in revenue, with record first quarter sales of $3,007,000, a 40% increase over the first quarter of 1998. Polymicro manufactures drawn silica glass products for the aerospace, industrial and medical markets.
