SpatiaLight, ILIXCO Sign Joint Development Agreement
NOVATO, Calif., April 21 -- SpatiaLight, Inc., a developer of liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS) micro display devices, announced a joint development agreement with ILIXCO, Inc., a designer and developer of image doubling technology based in Menlo Park, California. The companies will work together to design a new technology for LCOS micro display assemblies that will reduce costs and provide higher resolution.
SpatiaLight and ILIXCO aim to develop a single chip color system that combines SpatiaLight's color LCOS micro-display with ILIXCO's image doubling technology, which is currently being used in digital cameras. Once the single chip color system has been developed, both companies will be able to distribute the single chip color system to manufacturers of high definition televisions, desktop monitors, projectors and head mounted displays.
