Telemedicine kit

A deployable telemedicine kit that allows first responders in the field to send images via satellite, Internet or integrated services digital networks to medical specialists for further consultation has been released by AMD Telemedicine Inc. The kit includes a general examination camera; a digital electronic stethoscope; an otoscope for ear, nose and throat examinations; a digital spirometer for diagnostic cardiac and pulmonary applications; a direct ophthalmoscope for viewing the retina; a SmartProbe ultrasound; a 12-lead interpretive ECG for PCs; and a software program to organize individual patients.
