Olympus Acquires Gyrus Group Shares
Olympus Corp. of Tokyo has agreed to acquire all of the ordinary shares of Gyrus Group plc of Wokingham, UK, a manufacturer of medical equipment. A price of approximately £935 million has been agreed upon. The companies say that the acquisition of the European company, which makes radio-frequency devices and energy-based technologies for minimally invasive surgical systems, will complement Olympus’ current product line.
