Senior Mgmt. Changes at Veeco

Plainview, NY-based Veeco Instruments Inc. announced the following changes to its senior management team: John (Jack) F. Rein, Jr., executive VP, is retiring from the position of CFO after 15 years with the company, but will remain long enough to assist in the search for a successor. Peter Collingwood, who joined Veeco in October 2008 as VP and general manager for Europe, has been appointed as senior VP, Worldwide Sales and Field Service Organization. Collingwood joined Veeco from JDSU, where he served as the regional VP of sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa for the Communications Test Division. Veeco has also appointed David Burns as senior VP and general manager, Solar Equipment. Burns joined the company in 2000 through the acquisition of CVC and has since held a variety of roles in general management, marketing, operations and sales.
