Queen’s University Belfast in the UK has established the Bioimaging Core Technology Unit. The £2.2 million facility will enable researchers from Queen’s and other academic and industrial institutions to study cells — and the molecular processes occurring within them — in high resolution using confocal microscopy (see image) and other established and novel imaging techniques. Resources at the facility are expected to serve investigators in the pharmaceutical, biomedical and engineering fields.
