Coherent's Robert Gelber Retires
After 13 years at the helm of Coherent Auburn Group, Robert M. Gelber has resigned as president to spend more time on personal activities. Gelber is also retiring as executive vice president of Coherent Inc., headquartered in Santa Clara, Calif.
Bernard Couillaud, Coherent's president and CEO, lauded Gelber's role in growing Coherent Auburn Group from an internal supplier of components to an independent business unit with manufacturing operations in California and Europe.
John Ambroseo, president of Coherent Laser Group, will take on the added responsibility of president of the Auburn Group.
As part of the reorganization, Larry Parson was named vice president of Coherent Auburn Group's optics division. He previously worked at Optical Coating Laboratory Inc. in Santa Rosa, Calif.
