Filters, fluorophores
!%Omega Optical Inc.%! has enhanced its online Curv-o-matic tool, an interactive database of filter and filter set spectral curves, which includes fluorophore absorption and emission spectra. It has added new fluorophores, including fluorescent proteins and quantum dots, as well as light source data for arc lamps, lasers and LEDs. Search features have been improved, and it is now possible to choose up to three fluorophores at one time. Designed for optical instrument and experimental design, the tool contains information on more than 500 filter components, 200 filter sets and approximately 300 fluorophores. Filter data is available to download as an ASCII file, and all filters, including excitation, dichroic and emission types, are linked to an e-commerce store.
