Carl Zeiss MicroImaging
Carl Zeiss MicroImaging of Jena, Germany, has acquired the equipment business of Clarient Inc. of Aliso Viejo, Calif. The ACIS III system developed by the latter company comprises an automated microscope and image evaluation software and is used for tissue section imaging and for blood-borne biomarker quantification. The product will be marketed by Zeiss in cooperation with the diagnostics company Dako A/S of Glostrup, Denmark. The facilities of Clarient, which also conductsin-house molecular and flow cytometry testing for its customers, will remain at their current location.
