Newport Wins Laser Burn-in, Assembly Systems Orders
IRVINE, Calif., May 13 -- Newport Corp. has received orders totaling $1.3 million for its AutoAlign assembly and laser diode burn-in and characterization systems from a major manufacturer of fiber optic components. Newport expects to complete deliveries by June 30, 1999.
We continue to be encouraged by the strong demand for our products in the fiber optic communications market, said Robert G. Deuster, president and chief executive officer of Newport. These orders are testimony to the reputation our systems have gained in this rapidly growing field and the ability of Newport to play an important role in the industry's push to gear up for higher production volumes.
