Korean Firm Orders Inspection System from RVSI
CANTON, Mass., May 21 -- Robotic Vision Systems, Inc. (RVSI) announced that its Electronics division has received an order for its GS-7100 lead-scanning system from a major Korean electronics company. We see this order from Korea as further evidence of a recovery in Asia, said Pat V. Costa, Chairman and CEO of RVSI. Like much of south Asia, Korea was plagued by excess capacity and a devalued currency. This order, coupled with other systems currently on order from countries hard hit by currency devaluations, give us reason to believe that the turnaround in orders for the 'back end' of semiconductor manufacturing is underway.
