Mercury Computer Systems Inc.
Mercury Computer Systems Inc. of Chelmsford, Mass., has been granted FDA clearance to market its client server and picture archiving communications system (PACS) for medical applications. Together, they allow physicians and researchers to view 3-D patient images on standard PCs and laptops at institutions with a network connection.
Under the terms of a separate three-year agreement, the company will provide Genesis Digital Imaging Inc. of Los Angeles with Web-enabled PACS products. The latter plans to distribute the technology as well as to combine it with Kodak’s desktop computed radiography application to create an image distribution system for the nonhospital market.
