PerkinElmer Inc.

PerkinElmer Inc. of Waltham, Mass., has completed its acquisition of SYM-BIO Lifescience of Shanghai, China. The latter, a provider of diagnostics instruments and related reagents, was purchased in a cash transaction equivalent to $63.7 million. As part of the agreement, the American company gains access to manufacturing plant capacity in Shanghai and the surrounding area, enabling it to expand its local production capabilities.
