Solyndra Pens $105M Agreement
Solyndra Inc., a manufacturer of proprietary photovoltaic systems for commercial rooftops, announced it has signed a new multiyear framework agreement worth up to $105 million with solar integrator Sun System SpA, based in Milan, Italy. According to the Solyndra, its cylindrical, thin-film photovoltaic systems are designed to generate more electricity on an annual basis from typical low-slope commercial rooftops while providing much lower installation costs than conventional flat panel photovoltaic technologies. The solar panels for this Euro-based agreement will be manufactured at Solyndra’s facilities in Fremont and Milpitas, Calif.
