Trumpf Opens US Tech Center
In South Carolina, Trumpf Medical Systems officially opened its new Design & Technology Center next to Charleston’s Cooper River on Oct. 28, 2009. The new US headquarters, a 27,000-sq-ft medical equipment planning facility, will feature various configurations of Trumpf’s LED surgical and procedure lights, ceiling-mounted equipment management systems, surgical tables, and patient and equipment transport systems. Recent growth at the Charleston facility, which opened its doors in 2000, has created a need for expansion. According to the company, the move from Trumpf’s previous Charleston location represents a $5.58 million investment in the area and will create approximately 30 new jobs over the next three years. The facility is expandable to 49,000 sq ft to accommodate future growth.
