Lasik Vision Announces 1st Quarter Results
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, June 2 -- Lasik Vision Corp. announced gross revenues of $3,493,531 for the first quarter of fiscal 1999, which results reflect an increased number of procedures performed at Lasik Vision's existing laser refractive centers. More than 5,000 paid laser procedures were performed at the company's clinics during the first quarter, an 858 percent increase over the 593 procedures performed during the same period in 1998.
Each of the procedures conducted during the first quarter of 1999 was performed at one of the six Lasik Vision clinics in Canada, three of which commenced operations during the period in question. In addition to existing clinics in Vancouver, Toronto and Calgary, Lasik Vision opened refractive centers in Ottawa on January 18, 1999; in Montreal on February 8, 1999; and in Halifax on March 22, 1999.
