Avago Files Suit Against STMicroelectronics
Avago Technologies, a supplier of analog interface components for wired and wireless communications, has announced that on March 15, 2010, it filed a patent infringement lawsuit against STMicroelectronics. Avago alleges that certain STMicroelectronics products infringe four of its patents covering optical navigation technology and that it seeks cash compensation and an order preventing further infringement.
“Avago has devoted significant resources to inventing, developing and progressing the technology that enables the optical mouse,” stated Patricia H. McCall, general counsel. “When necessary, we will defend our intellectual property against infringement.”
The case is Avago Technologies US Inc. et al. v. STMicroelectronics Inc. et al., case number 10-cv-00092 in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The analog interface comoponents supplier is represented by Mayer Brown LLP and Potter Minton PC.
