Key Photonics Technology Forum to Open in Brussels

SPIE Photonics Europe announced that it will provide a forum for discussion of the latest developments in key enabling technologies identified by the European Commission held April 12-16 at the Square Conference Centre in Brussels.

Including more than 1300 presentations, it is the largest and broadest technical program of any European photonics event in 2010, the organization said.

Two major activities will promote photonics innovation. These include a presentation of a student innovation prize sponsored by the Research, Education and Training Work Group of the Photonics21 technology platform and SPIE, as well as an Innovation Village award competition. Held in cooperation with the European Union and the Brussels Photonics Team at the Vrije University of Brussel (VUB), the competition will include 21 participating companies.
