Avago Nabs $40M Optical Finger Contract
Avago Technologies, a Calif.-based supplier of analog interface components for wired and wireless communications, industrial and consumer applications, has received a further order for Optical Finger Navigation (OFN) active components from an OFN module manufacturer. Avago is supplying the optical sensing engines for OFN modules to this unnamed manufacturer.
The order addresses demand from multiple mobile handset OEMs and, according to the company, is expected to generate sales to Avago in excess of $40 million. This new order relates to anticipated product shipments over the 12 months commencing July 2010.
