Varian Joins Agilent Technologies
Bill Sullivan, president and chief executive officer of Agilent Technologies Inc., announced in a letter to its customers that Varian Inc. is now part of the measurement company.
Together, the two companies will provide their customers with a complete set of measurement applications and solutions, accompanied by service and support.
Changes will not be made to any business processes such as ordering, billing and services until the latter part of the year.
Over the next several months, both companies will optimize sales coverage, services and processes by building on the best of both companies to offer customers expert services with Agilent, Sullivan said.
The divestitures include Agilent’s micro GC business and Varian’s ICP-MS, Lab GC and GC quadrupole mass spectrometry instruments businesses.
