Precision Technology, Fonon Group File Patent Infringement Suit

Precision Technology Center GmbH, headquartered in Austria, and Fonon International SA, based in Panama, have filed suit in US federal court in Florida alleging patent violations concerning laser glass cutting technology. They are seeking more than $10 million in damages.

The suit charges Accudyne Corp. of Palm Bay, Fla., with fraud and attempting to sell the companies' intellectual property. The suit also names the California-based US Display Consortium as a defendant. The patent at the center of the allegations pertains to zero-width glass cutting and extra-low-pressure grinding technology.
