Army Takes Early Delivery of Litton Equipment

ARLINGTON, Va., July 2 -- The US Army is taking early delivery of Generation III night vision goggles and tubes produced by a division of Litton Industries Inc. Litton Electro-Optical Systems Division (LEOS), with a facility in Tempe, Arizona and headquarters in Garland, Texas, delivered MX-11620 25-mm Generation III image intensifier tubes and AN/PVS-7D's two months ahead of schedule under the Army's Omnibus V contract.
The MX-11620 night vision tubes serve to upgrade existing weapon sights and significantly improve the performance of the AN/PVS-4 and AN/TVS-5 weapon sights under the Army's Modernization Thru Spares concept. The contract also calls for Litton to manufacture and deliver the AN/PVS-14 night vision monocular and includes options for the manufacture and delivery of the AN/AVS-6 Aviator's Night Vision Imaging System.
