IMRA America Marks 20th Anniversary
IMRA America Inc. has announced its celebration of 20 years as a research and development company in the field of fiber lasers.
Founded in 1990 by automotive supplier Aisin Group of Japan, its main goal is to develop technologies that benefit industry and society as a whole. With access to the University of Michigan as a source for research employees, it is poised to serve the evolving US auto industry.
Its scientists have developed more than 150 patented inventions over the past two decades, making it a leader in the advancement of ultrafast fiber laser technology, according to the company.
Besides the automobile industry, its ultrafast technologies are used for lasik surgery and micromachining.
IMRA has more than 240 inventions in the works with patent-pending status, and it actively offers its licenses to all companies for reasonable rates to ensure the widespread global use of its contributions.
